Blog post 1 creativity

For this month’s Web Programming class, I completed a creativity exercise called the “Alternative Uses Exercise.”

What I Did

I chose a simple object, a paper clip,

and set a timer for 2 minutes. My goal was to write as many uses as possible without overthinking. At first, my ideas were basic, but then I started thinking more creatively and came up with different uses like a phone stand or small tool.

What I Learned

This exercise taught me that:

  • Creativity takes practice
  • There are no wrong ideas
  • Thinking fast helps generate more ideas
This activity helped me feel more confident and showed me that creativity is a skill I can improve, even in web programming.
