Blog Post 3 - Creativity
In web programming, creativity plays an important role when planning and designing a website. For this assignment, I tried a creativity exercise called “Random Word Association.” This activity helps generate new ideas by connecting unrelated words to a specific topic. I found this exercise online and thought it would be interesting to apply it to web design.
To start, I chose a random word generator and got words like “ocean,” “energy,” and “light.” Then I connected each word to a website idea. For example, the word “ocean” made me think about using calming colors like blue and creating a clean, flowing layout. The word “energy” inspired me to think about adding dynamic elements like movement or bold sections to make a page feel more engaging. Finally, “light” made me consider using white space and simple design to keep everything easy to read. This exercise helped me look at web design from a different perspective.
What I learned from this activity is that creativity can come from unexpected places. By using random words, I was able to think outside of my usual ideas and explore new design directions. This exercise also showed me that inspiration does not always have to come from other websites it can come from anything. Overall, it helped me understand how creative thinking can improve the way a website looks and feels.
