Blog Post 3 - Design

As I continue learning about web programming and design, I’ve realized that creating a website is not just about how it looks, but also about how it works and how people find it. Two important concepts I’ve been learning are SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and UI/UX design. Even though they focus on different things, they both play a big role in building a successful website.

SEO is about helping a website be discovered online. It focuses on how search engines understand and display a site when people search for something. I learned that a website needs to be organized, clear, and properly set up so it can appear in search results. Without SEO, a website might not reach anyone, no matter how good it looks. This made me understand that design is not only visual, but also strategic.

UI and UX design focus more on how users interact with a website. UI is about the visual elements, like buttons, colors, and layout, while UX is about the overall experience when someone uses the site. I learned that a good design should feel simple, natural, and easy to use. If a website is confusing or difficult to navigate, people will likely leave, even if it looks nice.

What I found most interesting is how these concepts connect. SEO helps bring users to the website, while UI and UX help keep them there. This showed me that design is not just about creativity, but also about thinking from the user’s perspective. As I continue learning, I see that good design is a balance between visibility, usability, and visual appeal.
